Several years ago we got a call from a vendor at LA Fitness, PV for TV mounting. The Geek Squad had tried to mount their 80" Sharp Aquos. The Geek Squad said it couldn't be done, they couldn't even get the mount on the wall. We were able to quickly see the issue. The hard facts about today's tv set
In 2 decades I don't ever remember going to a customers home and finding a cracked TV fresh out of the box brand new. In the past year this seems to be a common occurrence. This is not limited to the real flimsy screens of the cheap brands that literally can crack if you press your finger on them. The Samsung, Sony and LG models of the higher series like 7 or 8 seem to be better screens, but are not like the screens of old that's for sure. The abuse in the shipping process when you order online from what I see, if the screen is not cracked or something, we are seeing many not lasting very long despite the quality because people are having TV's shipped and the screens just can't take a lot of jolts.

I don't know the process of how the big stores get their inventory. I just know what I see when the boxes are open. I know that our inventory is from the supplier who supplies all AV companies in the valley who are authorized dealers. This entity cares about the condition of their inventory and returns are rare. I have never had a customer return a TV. Once one had a Wifi issue fixed by manufacture warranty all we sell of any brand has. If a TV has issues within 30-days after purchased it will be swapped out.
It's tempting to go on Amazon, Costco, and other entities to get mounts for your TV mounting situation, based on the reviews shown. The thing is in Arizona, the construction practices lead to a low rate of customer purchased mounts, being suitable for the wall and position the TV is planned to be mounted. It's always a good ideal to call us first, but normally, even if you have purchased mounts already we will be able to make sure that each TV is mounted right with the proper mount. We assess each TV mounting location, and wall, to determine if there are any issues. The biggest problem we find with client selected mounts, are related to where you want your TV to be centered on the wall horizontally, which is typically, centered. Many mounts don't have a hole in the center of the mount, and studs are often in the center of the wall and some TV mounts we can't modify. Do not buy mounts where the mounting plate comes in two pieces. If the mounting plate comes in two pieces, this was done for one reason, to save on shipping costs.
The ONN dual arm articulating mount is just the most practical mount for 85" and under and the most functional and has the 24" backplate. We carry these with us and even mounts that cost 2-5 times as much don't work better or make your TV more secure. We do have Sanus and for the 98" and over size their tilt mount is excellent. Also the Sonos ARC/ARC Ultra mount is good.
We carry proper mounts with us and good mounts don't have to be expensive. Some of the Sanus mounts, most of which we carry lower priced from the stores, work excellent with the smoothest movement, but are pricey.

Even after mounting over 10,000 TV's myself, it is often that a mounting solution needs to be found for a TV mounting situation with the mounting needs that arise. In Arizona, builders are allowed to separate wood studs in drywall walls 24", horizontally, this can create a lot of issues, especially with larger TV's. This can lead to unsafe TV mounting when less-experienced installers make decisions to save time, rather than complete the job safely. We are called periodically about fixing a TV where a handyman service, movers, cable guy, friend or someone has mounted a TV and it's become unstable. This is usually because someone has winged it and usually because the TV mount doesn't fit the wall stud configuration in relation where the customer wanted the mounted TV to be centered on the wall horizontally. So, that's when improper anchoring happens. I've seen articulating mounts on large TV secured to just drywall with no attachment to studs, a disaster waiting to happen. There are scenarios when anchoring to drywall is safe and effective. The mounts we carry, normally meet all stud configurations so we will be able to guarantee the mounting for life, they will not come off the wall until removed. We are ready for nearly any situation and owner has mounted 10,000+ himself.

Most people just don't have an ideal location for a home theater in their home. This is a custom Home theater made to fit the space. It is not ordinary to do a home theater system on a diagonal, but why not? In this case, in order to do this we had to make a cabinet to house the screen. Chuck started out with just a normal screen, then a few years later he upgraded to 4K and got a Screen Innovations high-end screen. When we were done he didn't have any posters or the room finished so he sent this when he was done with the home theater room. He is pretty happy considering it is hardly the ideal home theater room, but it really is very nice with a great audio system and the projector (JVC) and screen work great with the Denon receiver and Martin Logan speakers we installed.
